Option – 1: Through other gmail account


Taking backup through other gmail account

  1. Login to your gmail account.
  2. Click on the Gear icon at the upper right corner of your email dashboard, then go to “settings”.
  3. Click settings
  4. Click Accounts and Import
  5. Click Import Mail and Contacts
  6. Type dhaka.net email address ( ex: username@dhaka.net ) continue
  7. Enter email password
  8. POP username: username@dhaka.net
  9. POP Server: pop.gmail.com port : 995
  10. Click Use SSL and continue

Now your gmail account will start downloading email automatically from your dhaka.net account. It may take 2/3 days or more depending on your mail volume to download all your email.


Option - 2: Using Microsoft Outlook


A. Enabling IMAP Service in your email dashboard

  1. Login to your dhaka.net email account at webmail.dhaka.net using email ID and password.
  2. Click on the Gear icon at the upper right corner of your email dashboard, then go to “settings”.
  3. Click on the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.
  4. Select “Enable IMAP”.
  5. Click on the “Save Changes” button to save your settings.

B. Configuring Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts Settings
  3. In E-mail accounts click New then choose Microsoft Exchange,POP3,IMAP,or HTTP and click Next.
  4. Check or tick Manually configure server settings or additional server types
  5. Choose Internet E-Mail and click next.
  6. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:

    User Information

    Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: "Your name field of outgoing messages".
    Email Address: Enter your full Dhaka.net email address (username@dhaka.net)

    Server Information

    Account Type: IMAP
    Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.gmail.com
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

    Login Information

    User Name Enter your Dhaka.net username (username@dhaka.net)
    Password: Enter your email password

  7. Click More Settings... and then click the Outgoing Server tab.
  8. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  9. Click the Advanced tab, Server Port Numbers.

    Incoming server (IMAP): 993
    Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL
    Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
    Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL

  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Test Account Settings... After receiving Congratulations! All tests completed successfully, click Close.
  12. Click Next, and then click Finish

Taking backup of your dhaka.net emails

  1. In your Outlook Inbox from Menu click Tools then Send/Receive -> Send/Receive Settings -> Define Send/Receive Groups
  2. Click Edit and Select "Download Complete item including attachments" click ok and close setting window.
  3. Now click Send/Receive button in your outlooks main window to start download emails from your dhaka.net account
  4. The mail download will take awhile depending on your total mail volume.

Taking backup of your dhaka.net contacts by export file in csv format

  1. Login to your dhaka.net account
  2. Choose “Contacts” from rectangular “Google Apps” Button on top right corner of your dashboard.
  3. Click “Export”
  4. From “Export As” Choose “Google CSV” or “Outlook CSV”
  5. Click “Export” and save the file in your PC .

Taking backup of your dhaka.net google drive

  1. Download “Backup & Sync” from https://www.google.com/drive/download/ and install it on your computer using your dhaka.net user ID ( ex: username@dhaka.net ) and password.
  2. Copy all of your data from “Google Drive” to your local computer drive.
